DEMOCRACY'S DARKEST DAY
One year ago, January 6, 2021, became one the darkest days in American history. As Congress gathered to certify the results of the 2020 Presidential Election, a mob of violent pro-Trump supporters stormed the Capitol in the hopes of disrupting our most basic democratic processes. The insurrection was a violent and senseless attack that stands as a sign of what happens when the peaceful transfer of power is disturbed. By the end of the day, five individuals would lose their lives and things in America would never be the same. SUTV's Adam Beam explores the presidency of Donald Trump and the violence of January 6th. SEPTEMBER 11TH:
TWO DECADES LATER
I decided to make my first ever documentary in honor of the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks. The documentary involves interview with 7 individuals, two of which were in the towers on that day, each with a unique perspective on the events of the day. This documentary also explores the controversial aftermath involving the rise of Islamophobia in America and the eventual invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan.
ELECTION NIGHT '20
My first year of anchor work for SUTV concluded with a four hour coverage of the 2021 Presidential Election. While no winner was called that night, it was still eventful to say the least. From anchoring the main desk and working the map of states that have been called, I balanced numerous jobs throughout the night. This was a months long project that had been in the work since September.

As the Fall 2021 semester gets underway, we recognize this as the first semester with Interim President Charles Patterson. Following the legacy of Laurie Carter is no easy task. I had the honor to sit down with President Patterson and discuss with him about his plans for the semester as well as his plans for our university overall.
